EU Organic
Certified organic
Organic checks are procedure- and process control, this means that the auditor checks the procedures of the production process and the flow of goods.
It’s inspected whether all relevant documents like recipes, supplier- and customer lists, worklists, invoices for incoming and outgoing goods, organic certificates of ingredients, ingredient lists and labels are present.
During inspections it’s checked whether, if applicable, conventional and organic products are kept and processed separated, to prevent mixing. The right labelling of raw materials, intermediates and end products is also analysed.
It’s checked whether only allowed ingredients and additives are used and whether the reported amount of organic raw materials (minus loss in production) compares to the amount of organic end product.
